A message in the song

We all face troubling circumstances and from time to time it seems like everything hits at once. In these times, I typically have a lot of songs running through my head that bring encouragement - yep, I'm posting a couple more songs. It has been one of those weeks where difficulties keep arising, and I'm constantly in a battle. Thank the Lord for peace of mind - oh that's another song. "Peace of mind, that's what I find, in Jesus, when the world comes crashing in ...".

The main song I was think about as I sat down to blog was "God Likes To Work When Nothing Else Will". The ending says what is on my mind - "So they'll be no mistaking, when He blesses and heals, God likes to work, when nothing else will". Looking forward to giving God all the glory as He works things out.

I had a great time with Mariano, Wendy, Aydan, and Sis Becky in Guatemala. Spent 5 days meeting Mariano's family and site seeing (and a little shopping as well). Hope to get some pics up soon. We got back home around 12:30 Wednesday morning. Please pray for the Pacheco family.

Wednesday I tried to address some on going issues we have been in for some time. Thursday, some new bad news hit, and God knows what that is. We are trusting God for direction, not understanding His timing for everything. But that brings up another song "Isn't it great, when He's four days late, He's still on time". Lord, help me to work on your time clock and not my own.

Sometimes just one line of a song can speak volumes. I'm glad for the gift of memory at those times.

Praying God will work your situation out.

Thanks for the headache suggestions. I have tried a ton of things over the past year-and-a-half, and nothing has helped very much. I notice that stress and lack of sleep definitely make mine worse so I try to be careful about that. My new neurologist just put me on Cymbalta and had me try 3 new breakthrough meds, but they didn't help at all. He wants to try botox as a last resort, but I will be sure to ask about massage therapy when I go back. Thanks again, and hope you and your family are doing well:)

People wander why I listen to gospel music? It's for times like this. God can be so real and personal through a verse of song. Hoping and praying that Gods will is done in your situation.

Bro Mike, God will use whatever means he sees fit to encourage and strengthen us. God is FAITHFUL! This I know. Stay close to God, stay sweet in your soul, and leave it in God's hands. In His time and in His own way He will take care of all things that concern us. Praying that God will work out your circumstances for His glory and honor.

The song that has echoed in my mind for the last two days is "Rest in Him" by Karen Peck. The lyrics are encouraging for this time in our lives.

"Rest in Him and you'll be safe and sound....just lay your burdens down, He'll wrap His arms around you...Don't get lost in the sorrow, there's hope for your tomorrow..."

I love you and am glad I don't have to weather this storm alone. And by the grace of God, we'll be just fine- you and me!!!

We are praying for you guy as well!!! Often times I go thru trials and God brings a song to my mind. They are so many that we can talk about and how the lyrics have touched our lives!!! But they all fall back to "God" doing something and nothing else!
